The world is LIT - December 4, 2017

Happy birthday tommy!! What i love about tommy - he was my first sibling in law and is sooooo niiiiccceee! Haha but really, anyone that knows tommy and knows our family knows that you have to be as nice as him to put up with us. He's also very punny and likes to make jokes (such as giving me a "ratchet" for Christmas). What a good brother in law. He's a gr8 dad to 3 of my 5 favorite humans, which I appreciate. We love tommy!
Ok. Down to business. What a WEEK. First of all, we started off #ILUMINAELMUNDO which has been GREAT. The video is so cute and fun to share with people. We had an FHE last week with the Rodriguez fam and their family in the EP ward. We did it on light the world and how we can focus more on Christ during this Christmas season. We played a game where we had nerf guns and everyone had to shoot a calendar and say what they would do to LIGHT THE WORLD on that day. It was super good. We've been doing it every day! We asked the relief society president, hermana De Leon, about some sisters in the ward who need some encouragement. We've been leaving anonymous notes and little treats on their door steps and ding ding ditching them! Hehehe. Also for day 2, it was about water so last Monday we bought a case of water bottles to bring to a food shelter. Then on Saturday we looked and they were all closed. So we brought it to a families house in our ward who JUST moved in from Mexico and have like nothing and left it on their doorstep with a card with the scripture about living water. Haha. #LIGHTTHEWORLD!!
We also have Feliciana, who's basically a miracle. She's SO ready. We taught her the first and second lessons and she has such sincere questions and we talk about her baptismal date and she is so open to everything and she actually KEEPS HER COMMITMENTS and READS and PRAYS. She's soooo good. We were like "were trying to prepare you for your baptismal date" and stuff and she goes "yeah well I've talked to my husband about it and he just says it's up to me... whatever I want to do.. I just want to make sure I'm doing it not for the excitement of it but because I know it's true" and we were like YEEEAH YOU RIGHT. Her name fits her. She's so feliz!
Ok. As you can probably tell from my subject, we had a GREAT day yesterday due to our FASTING. it was soooooo awesome. Ok. Here's what happened. We fasted for a few things, two of them being to 1) get the Landeros family to church and 2) bring the Rodriguez family to Ellison Park and have them feel the spirit in the meetings. SO. on Sunday morning, we went to the Landeros' house, like we do every Sunday. They NEVER answer. Like we go throughout the week and they love us, we go share messages and teach Jazmine, but they never answer the door or pick up the phone on Sunday mornings. So we went over, knocked on the door a couple times and they didn't pick up. We called them like 3 times and no answer. OH NO! We started driving to other people's houses and we got a phone call from hermana landeros. AHHHHH. she NEVER calls us back. We picked it up and she told us that they were coming to church!!! I almost cried. I was SOOOO HAAAPPPPYYYY. They haven't come to church in SO LONG. and hermana landeros, hermano landeros, and jazmine all came! And showed up ON TIME! It was crazy. And they told us they were coming next week too. YEEAAAHHH.
next, la familia Rodriguez. We called them in the morning too a couple times and they didn't pick up. At about 10:20, we went over to their house and Valentina (the 12 year old) answered and she was already all dressed!! We asked which ward they planned on attending and they said Ellison park!! And we called their friend Shauna who's in the English ward and she said how they have ALWAYS showed up to church after the sacrament, every week. We waited outside the chapel when the meeting started. They showed up about 5 minutes late. They were still saying the announcements! And it was probably the best testimony meeting I've ever been in. No one said any weird stories or went on for too long haha and everyone was testifying of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and how we can know the church is true through prayer. It was super spiritual and awesome. They also stayed for all 3 hours and really liked it! #blessed
We got transfer calls last night, and I'm staying in Layton with hermana bliss for another transfer! AND we are the Spanish STLs! Wooooo! So we'll be in charge of all the hermanas in the mission and do exchanges and such and such. Gonna be so good! I'm excited for this next transfer!
The mission so good! Everyone should go iluminar el mundo, por favor :-)
Love
Hermana Murphy
