Good day! this week has been a good one. first of all, NEWS FROM PUERTO RICO!!! i cant believe theyre sending back 14 elders!!!!!! sooooo craaazy! #iluminapuertorico #livelovePR #prsj i cant wait to see whats gonna happen with all this and recieve more news!
ok. so. we put jazmine landeros on DATE this week. the thing about the landeros fam is, if theyre gonna have a party, theyre gonna make it the biggest party the ward has ever SEEN. and of course, if jazmine's gonna get baptized, theyre gonna have a party. so. they said this month is too busy to have her baptism, so we're having it in january. a little longer wait than we hoped, but this way, we can get them coming to church every week and work with them longer. they came to church yesterday and stayed for all 3 hours! and jazmine loved primary. and shes super pumped to get baptized.
we've finished teaching feliciana the main 3 lessons, now we're working on the commandments. she was in salt lake so she wasn't able to come to church, so she needs at least one more attendance before her baptism. she is so sincere and literally believes everything. she has VERDADERA INTENCION. we talked about prophets this week and she was like "yeah i watch general conference on tv when its on" and we were both like :0 r u srs!!!! haha she's so great. her kids are also so down to go to church and activities and stuff. shes really liking the concept of eternal families too. shes just golden.
the rodriguez family. so. they really like the english ward, for some odd reason, because the spanish ward is OBVIOUSLY better. but we're just gonna support whatever they want. i mean. obviously we would prefer the spanish ward so they could actually understand, but they have people who are willing to translate (apparently) so whatever. the important thing is that they get baptized and continue going to church. haha we talked about this in ward council yesterday and they just started ROASTING the english ward hahahh it was so funny. but anyways. we go throughout the week to see them and teach little lessons but its hard because Roberto the only night Roberto can is mondays. and guess what happened last monday. they got in a car crash. nothing was too bad, but we had to cancel our appointment. satan... trying to stop us.... its going slow, but theyve gone to church FIVE TIMES now. so they could really get baptized any day. we just gotta TEACH EM.
this week hermana bliss and i were invited to do a training at the new missionary meeting. we were the only ones there (besides the APs) who werent a trainer or trainee. we did the same training twice, on using technology and such and such, because there was two groups (one listened and one went out and tracted with the APs) and we got a text from the APs saying that they wouldnt be back in time to do their training so we had to do their training too. lolz. we were literally talking for so long and had no idea what we were even saying hahaha it was so funny. we're basically the girl assistants.... haha jkjkjkjkjk. we also gave the best training ever because at the end we gave everyone homemade bread. ahahhaah. they were all like "um did you make this?" "yes we spent our whole p day making it!!!!" it was actually from brother and sister shearer who always give us a ton of bread. haha. we're the HEROES!!
since they took the other hermanas out, we got most of their investigators. weve gone trying to contact all them this week but like theyre so hard to contact and the hermanas didnt leave us any phone numbers or anything :))))) but we had a super good lesson with one of them and she accepted baptism and then she told us she was going to mexico for a month leaving the next day. woo! haha. but we're workiinnnn.
i know i talk about the same people every email, but they're just so good!!!!!!!! haha. welcome to layton!!!
if you havent seen the light the world video, go watch it at mormon.org !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as many of you probs saw I posted 3 Nephi 11:10-11 on facebook last night for #iluminaelmundo. its just so good!!!!
10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified sh all come into the world.
11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the willof the Father in all things from the beginning.
classic!!!! i love 3 nefi 11, theres a reason we give it to ALL of our investigators to read. its so powerful. everyone should read it in preparation for christmas!!!!
well, thats about it folks. hope everyone has a great week and LIGHTS THE WORLD!!!!!
LOVE HERMANA MURPHY
1. funny story. so we found a trailer park in our area and were PUMPED and we knocked the whole entire thing. it took a couple days. we found some awesome people and have been going back. on saturday night, we went because we had an appointment and saw all these missionaries that we didn't know. turns out they're from the salt lake mission and for some reason, this trailer park, in the MIDDLE OF OUR AREA, is part of the salt lake spanish mission. oops!!!!! but i got to see hermana karlinsey from puerto rico!!!!!!!!!!!! she was in my MTC group and it was SO AWESOME to get to see her! too bad we were poaching off salt lake for a couple weeks though. some of the missionaries were a lil mad lol.
2. we had an activity on saturday morning where everyone brought clothes and were allowed to take what they wanted or leave whatever. some lady brought all these homemade beanies haha. so heres us twinning!!
3. the best present!
